You chase my blues away

I LOVE this card love love love it! I did not know when I set down to make it I would love it so much and now I have different variations of this card running through my head. I used all Tim Holtz distress ink (I LOVE those too) in the following colors walnut stain, tea dye, Forest moss and peeled paint. The border around this little puddle jumper is Tim Holtz die left overs that I trimmed out for a frame (waste not want not). The stamp is...well who know I think it is Daisy Kingdom but I got it in a box at a garage sale and had to use it. Anyway enjoy!

So many cards

Warning this is VERY picture heavy. I had a card making frenzy yesterday and made over 30 pinwheel cards. Not  all are pictured here but I wanted to share some of my favorites.

Missing you in this weeks color Palette

Here is another card using this weeks color palette and in the missing you category for the OWH Stars and Stamps challenge. I love combining challenges like this. I used the Unity Stamp miss you stamp, embossed and sat the little girl on the greeting. The little girl is one of Sliekje's digital stamps. Colored her in with Prismacolor pencils.

1 Stamp 2 different looks

It's a colorful life challenged us to use one stamp but color it two different ways. For instance a cottage landscape in winter and one in fall. I immediately went for my Stamps of life stamps because they are made for this kind of thing! The people are stamps of life stamps, support the troops ribbon is from unity stamps and the images on the shirts are Stampin up I got at a garage sale and the wish is Fiskars..

Now I HAVE to get a few hours sleep, but YEAH I made it through ALL of the challenges.

Ok I only have two more challenges to go and I am....dragon :P Sorry I couldn't help myself.

1 2 3 Challenge

This challenge issued by Thinking of Inking was a 1, 2, 3 challenge which means 1 piece of designer paper, 2 different images (any combination of rubber stamps, digital images, or die cuts is OK, but you can’t use more than two distinct images) and 3 or more words in the sentiment, which must be shown on the card front (the sentiment does NOT count as one of the two images). This card is not going to OWN but don't despair it is going to a soldier. This card will be headed to by "baby" brother who is in basic right now so he has a pretty card to send to our little sisters whom LOVE to get mail. I used Disney designer paper, an Aurora stamp, a heart stamp and a Follow your dreams stamp. All stamps from Disney's set except the heart which is from the Stamps of Life. ( I am in love with the Stamps of Life sets!) So here it is, not to bad but the ink ran when I water-colored it :

Pinwheel Challenge

This was fun. My pinwheel is a little sloppy but hey its 2:30 am  and my first pinwheel. I will make it smaller next time I think. Also I must say as much as I like the sentiments in my cloud 9 stamps I just can't seem to get them to stamp right. Anyone have any suggestions, splotchy stamps make me sad. Anyway enjoy! Oh silly me this was a challenge issued by Hello from Kate!, silly me I almost forgot to include that.

Oh yeah supplies, I use Tim Holtz paper and die. Standad kraft paper and the cloud 9 love phrases stamp.

Bearly a Bear Challenge

THe challenge issued by ScrappinBears' was to make a card using a heart, a bear or both. Well I adore this digi from Sliekje and it is a Panda "bear". A panda bear is a bear (thankfully I didn't pick a Koala) however it isn't the teddy bear she was talking about. Also I tried adding a heart that said you make my heart flutter but it dirtied up the design aspect so it didn't make the cut. This is also pulling double duty tonight, this morning whatever its 2am and is done using the colors for this weeks color challenge in my card class. Yeah for two birds with one stone.

Foodie Fourth Challenge

This challenge issued by Sarah's Stamping and stuff was to make a card using food. I just bought this stamp set a few days ago and this was the perfect time to use it.The stamps are from Fiskars fresh fruit collection. I colored the banana's with Koi watercolors. Now the red paper I had was either WAY red or more peach so I took the closes color i could find to what I wanted and used Barn Door distress ink to make is redder. Is redder even a word? The other color I wanted for my color palette was grey which I again did not have matching paper for so I diecut my label in white and colored grey with a copic. Whew how is that for inventive? Anyway here is my next card only 6 more challenges to go!

Crazy with Color Challenge

My Craft Central posted a challenge to color something with non traditional colors. I used a digital stamp from Sliekje. I absolutely love her free digi's. Isn't he cute? Thank you for stopping  by, please leave a comment.

Summer Memories?

Ok so I did the subway art part of Essence of Paper's challenge but I did it in a love card. Well now that I think about it I married my childhood (high school) sweetheart and I have lots of great summer memories with him so it still works right? We got married in July that is summer. Yeah, ok I am going with that! I used wow lots of stamp sets for this and just plain black ink. The sets were from Fiskars, Unity Stamp Co and Cloud 9. I enjoyed using quite a few stamps I have never used before. Yeah for new things. This challenge made me a little nervous but not to bad for my first shot and a more masculine love card to boot I think this is a win.

AMERICANA Challenge

This challenge was given by Scrappily Ever after, I love that name. She posted a picture and wanted us to use it as inspiration. Well this is NOTHING like the picture however it did remind me of my new flag stamp. So I went at it. Stamps the image which is by Inkadinkado and colored it with Koi watercolors. Cut out the image and places it on my Tim Holtz die cut. U took red and blue plain cardstock and stamped stars from Stampin Up Classic Stars jumbo wheel. Toyed with adding a sentiment but it detracted from the card so I scraped it. Here is my card:

All in all I like this card. Thanks for stopping by on to the next challenge.

Another challenge down but still on yesterdays posts whew....Petunia's Paper Passion posted a challenge for the OWH virtual party called "howl at the moon" I did a watercolor at the beginning of the year while missing my husband who was away at basic and I thought I could turn it into a nice card. Actually originally it was a watercolor card I scanned before I sent it to him with the lyrics to Some Where out There inside it. She here is my moon card.

Fishy challenge....FAILED!

I am only posting this to show you I fail sometimes too. This card was for a blog challenge to create a fishbowl. I loath this card. It is horrible and I am embarrassed to post it. It is however time for a new challenge and I am moving on. I am so OVER fish...ick. maybe I'll eat fish for lunch to make me feel better. I had  may still explore it but my printer failed too so it will have to wait till I buy more ink. In fact it isn't even letting me scan so the picture kind of sinks too. EPIC FAIL. But we get up and try try again.

Camouflage #2 Card party

I was hit with inspiration while thinking of my husband (he is in the Army). I love his uniform esspecally his combat boots for some reason. I think  it's hot! So if he was deployed and sent me a card combat books would remind me of him, so that became my focal. I also remembered the starburst tutorial over at the S&S blog and thought it would look awesome in Camo. So I put it all together. Personally I would LOVE to get this card from my husband.

OWH Card Challange Party 5am Camouflage

Every two hours there is a new card challenge Sat and Sun. Here is my first one challenge completed; theme camouflage. First my Any hero Card to send to the troops that is this one:
This was made with a digital scrapbook kit from Cupcake Sprinkles. I know it is the old camo but it is what I had. The second part of the challenge was to create a OWH general card again using the theme. That I am taking much more time to figure out something creative....maybe it will hit me when I am shopping at my local craft store. MMmmmmm thinking thinking....I am going to have to think on a more creative use of Camo.
