Paintings

As requested pictures of my paintings. I do more than paint, I also play (draw) with charcoal. Most of my work including the not so good stuff is on my Deaviart art page. Clickie here for that. But here are the paintings. I haven't had a chance to work on anything recently but I am trying to draw at least one thing everyday. I also have some watercolors I am happy with.

This is my first attempt at painting. Gave this one to my mother because I really don't like how the flowers turned out.

This is my second attempt at painting. I started a painting class that I was forced to drop but this was the first assignment. To create a collage with magazine pictures and paint it. Everyone else did very collage like pictures, I opted for something more graphic. I like how this one turned out. the little balls could have been cleaner but I learned a lot.

This is my favorite painting to date. Nathan even had it framed for me for Christmas. This is not the final picture of it I worked on the clouds to the bottom left a little more, however it still pretty much looks the same. The only thing I am not happy with are the clouds in the blue portion of the painting.

This painting I did for my mother for mothers day. Her favorite flower is a white lily. I am happy with how the shading on the petals turned out.

I painted this for a supervisor who left. She was a great supervisor and I considered her a friend. She was always very supportive of my art and so I gifted this to her before she left.

Kitty update

So they are finally mostly just playing. Sorscha being at least twice Feora's size will sometimes get to rough but Feora has no problem letting her know it. Anyway for the most part piece has resumed. They follow me around as I get ready in the morning and run around the house like crazy cats. Sorscha will chase Feora then Feora will chase Sorscha then they curl up together mostly and nap. Sorscha plays harder now that she has a sister. Well I have this Saturday off so maybe I will get around to starting a new painting....Here's hoping. I have some wonderful sunrises from my apt balcony I would love to get down in paint.

YEAH!! KITTIES!!

So we were able to pick Feora up last night (Friday). Currently the two kittens are separated since Sorscha is like twice the size of Feora even though they are only about 1-2 weeks different in age. They did "play" a little under the door to the spare room. Sorscha pushed her arms as far under the door as possible and little Feora crept up just outside of batting range and softly batted at Sorscha's paw. They played like this for a few minute until Feora got bored with it and played with her most favorite of toys. The rare elusive brown paper bag!!! She played in it, on it around it and batted it around the room. She is very careful, testing everything before she jumps to it or plays with it. She is so adorable. Now Sorscha is a climber. She wants to be as high as she can get on your chair (even if you are sitting in it), on your shoulder. She jumps first, plans later. They are so different from each other. Feora wants to be cuddled, Sorscha wants to cuddle you. We are going to do limited contact today. Sorscha is going in the mesh carrier and be taken into Feora's room. This shall be interesting. I refuse to have another Pepsi, Mischief incident. For those of you that don't know Mischief was my brothers cat several months older than my cat at the time Pepsi. We rescued Pepsi from a home where she was being locked in a bedroom with her sibling and the owner ( a friend of mine's brother) would smoke who knows what. Pepsi never had very good balance. Anyway when we brought Pepsi home, Mischief kept him under the couch for a week. Every time Pepsi tried to peek out mischief would bat at him. They got over it but how traumatic for a kitten. Feora is just starting to play and jump in our laps. I would rather a slow comfortable introduction.

We get to pick up Feora on Saturday now that Sorscha's eye is under control. I don't have any pictures I personally have taken of her but here are a few her foster mom took.

OK so in the previous post I miss spelled my poor kittens name. It is Sorscha, oops. Here are those pictures I promised. She had an eye infection when we first got her so that is why she favors her right eye in a few pictures. Enjoy!

Happy New Year

Hello everyone. I seem to be having trouble keeping up here right now. I have had to work tons of overtime at work because of the snow then the flooding. And on the 23rd my mother fell on the ice and not only broke her foot in two places she broke a bone in her leg near the ankle in two places. busy busy

On the upside we have adopted a kitten from the local shelter, her name is Sorcha (it used to be Tigger). I will post pictures as soon as I can sit down long enough to breath again. I didn't think Nathan would be to fond of getting a kitten but we kitty sat my brothers kitten Yuffie up until Christmas, since she was a present. Well Nathan fell in love with her so we got him his own. And now we are going to end up with two :P We pick up the other kitten next week. Anyway that is all for now I have to continue the madness that is my job.
